Pharmacist - Medford, Wisconsin

This opportunity offers the chance to work as a travel pharmacist in a rural Northern Wisconsin hospital with 75 beds, primarily serving inpatient and outpatient populations. The role begins ASAP and extends for at least 13 weeks, providing meaningful experience in a dynamic, multi-departmental healthcare setting.

Schedule:

• Primarily 10-hour day shifts
• Rotating weekends with 8-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple responsibilities within a central inpatient pharmacy, including verifying EPIC medication orders, reviewing pharmacy technician work, and responding to pharmacist phone inquiries
• Prepare and provide inpatient and outpatient IV medications, inpatient unit dose medications, and outpatient chemotherapy treatments
• Support diverse clinical areas such as Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, Emergency Department, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and outpatient oncology
• Handle an inpatient census averaging 30-40 patients, ensuring safe and effective medication management

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist with relevant experience in hospital pharmacy settings
• Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems
• Comfortable managing a variety of medication preparations including chemotherapy and IVs
• Ability to work independently in a rural hospital environment with a diverse patient population
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle concurrent pharmacy responsibilities
