A travel pharmacist opportunity is available at a 50-bed hospital located in Northern Wisconsin. This contract role starts ASAP and has a duration of 13 weeks or more. The position offers a consistent 12-hour day shift schedule, working 7 days on followed by 7 days off.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing medication orders to ensure appropriate drug therapy, proper dosing, dosage form, regimen, and identifying therapeutic duplication and drug interactions
- Providing pharmacokinetic and anticoagulation dosing services
- Participating in pharmaceutical care through clinical services such as medication reconciliation and discharge medication education
- Overseeing pharmaceutical compounding with adherence to USP regulatory and compliance guidelines, primarily USP 797 and USP 800 standards
- Utilizing the EPIC electronic health record system effectively in daily work
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Active pharmacist licensure and relevant certifications
- Strong knowledge of medication management and clinical pharmacy practices
- Familiarity with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines, including pharmaceutical compounding standards
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems
- Ability to work efficiently within a hospital setting and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Schedule:
- 12-hour day shifts
- 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
