A retail pharmacist opportunity is available in Mesa, AZ, offering per diem shifts to support a newly contracted client with multiple pharmacy locations throughout the greater Phoenix area. This role provides the chance to contribute to a team focused on maintaining consistent pharmacy services during peak periods, including graduations, summer vacations, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert retail pharmacy services, dispensing prescriptions accurately and counseling patients.
- Support pharmacy operations from Monday to Saturday with typical hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; some locations may close at 8 p.m.
- Work collaboratively with technician teams; some sites will require autonomous pharmacist coverage.
- Participate in training sessions to become proficient with QS1 systems and familiarize with client-specific protocols.
- Be prepared to cover call-outs, vacations, and spikes in prescription volume (average 100–125 prescriptions per day).
Qualifications and Experience:
- 1-2 years minimum experience in a retail pharmacy environment; candidates with 5+ years preferred for higher compensation.
- Must possess immunization privileges and a current BLS certification.
- Experience with QS1 pharmacy software is highly valued.
- Active, unrestricted Arizona pharmacist license required.
- Flexibility to commit part-time availability, approximately 2-4 days per week.
Additional Information:
- A dedicated 8-hour training shift will be provided (first 8 training hours non-billable).
- Mileage reimbursement and travel expenses are covered per company policy for candidates commuting beyond certain distances.
