An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist to oversee retail pharmacy operations in Alamogordo, NM. This contract role offers day shifts Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with no weekend work. The initial assignment is 13 weeks or longer, with potential contract-to-hire options. Part-time, PRN, and travel candidates will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate pharmacy personnel, including recruitment and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance to customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
  • Manage pharmacy operations, including quality assurance, medication storage inspections, and disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Conduct comprehensive medication reviews (MTM) and identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare, review, and dispense prescriptions accurately and maintain patient profiles.
  • Maintain professional competency through continuing education and licensure.
  • Uphold infection control protocols and promptly document/report medication errors.
  • Foster a positive team environment and encourage staff development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree.
  • Current New Mexico pharmacist license.
  • 1-3 years’ experience as a registered pharmacist.
  • 1-2 years’ management experience preferred.
  • Retail 340B experience is a plus.
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certification required.
