Pharmacist in Metairie, LA

A healthcare facility in Metairie, LA is seeking a Critical Care / Clinical Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment. This position involves providing specialized pharmaceutical care in critical care settings, focusing on the Cardiovascular ICU and Medical ICU2 units. The role is scheduled for days, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., every other week (EOW).

Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert clinical pharmacy services in Cardiovascular ICU and Medical ICU2.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient medication therapies.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for medication management and documentation.
• Monitor and adjust treatment plans for complex critical care patients, including those in level 1 trauma.
• Participate in rounds and provide drug information and education to healthcare staff.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Minimum of one year of recent experience as a Critical Care or Clinical Pharmacist.
• Prior Level 1 trauma experience is required.
• PGY-2 residency training highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Louisiana pharmacy license in-hand.
• Board certification is preferred but not required.
• Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records.
• Open to first-time travelers.
