A hospital-based inpatient pharmacist position is available to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in a critical access setting. This role supports multiple departments including ICU, Labor & Delivery, Medical/Surgical, and Emergency.
Schedule & Hours:
- Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
- Shift times: 7:00/7:30 a.m. to 4:30/5:00 p.m.
- Rotating weekends every third weekend, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage and dispense medications within the hospital pharmacy, especially during weekend shifts
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and effective medication therapy
- Support departments such as ICU, L&D, Medical/Surgical, and Emergency with pharmaceutical expertise
- Utilize Meditech software for medication management; familiarity with Omnicell systems is a plus
Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years of experience as a hospital pharmacist is required
- Prior experience in a critical access hospital setting is highly preferred
- Proven ability to work autonomously, with particular focus on weekend coverage
- Strong knowledge of medication therapy and inpatient pharmacy operations
Location & Additional Information:
- Located in a rural area; housing availability may be limited, so candidates should plan accordingly and discuss housing concerns during the interview process
- Applicants must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
