Pharmacist - Milan, NM

This pharmacy role involves managing medication orders, monitoring patient drug therapies, and serving as a key resource for drug information among healthcare providers. The position leads routine pharmacy operations and oversees clinical aspects of patient drug therapy, stepping into leadership duties in the Pharmacy Director's absence.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications, including parenteral drugs and IV solutions, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards
• Monitoring patient drug therapies for safety and efficacy across age groups
• Providing drug information and education to physicians, nurses, patients, and healthcare professionals
• Maintaining drug inventory and pharmacy records in accordance with laws and policies
• Supervising pharmacy technicians and participating in formulary and automated dispensing machine management
• Responding to emergencies such as Rapid Response and Code Blue situations
• Completing annual competency evaluations and engaging in continuing education
• Upholding compliance with organizational policies and ethical standards
• Collaborating effectively with healthcare team members

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy; BS in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred
• Current, active license to practice pharmacy in New Mexico
• 1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred; strong clinical rotations considered for new graduates
• Strong clinical pharmacology knowledge and age-specific medication expertise
• Excellent communication skills and clinical decision-making ability
• Leadership and supervisory experience
• Proficient with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology
• Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement

Physical requirements include the ability to perform repetitive hand movements, lift up to 40 pounds, and stand or walk for extended periods.

This direct hire opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $135,000 to $168,000 and is located in Grants, New Mexico. Contract positions may be available in nearby areas with potential for extension.
