A pharmacist role is available to oversee pharmacy operations and clinical patient drug therapy at a healthcare facility in Grants, NM. This direct hire position offers the opportunity to lead the pharmacy department and make a positive impact on patient safety and medication management.
Responsibilities include preparing and dispensing medications accurately according to legal and quality standards, monitoring patient drug therapies for safety and effectiveness, and providing drug information and education to healthcare providers. You will also supervise pharmacy technicians, manage inventory, maintain departmental records, and participate in formulary management and emergency response teams. In the absence of the Pharmacy Director, you may assume leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications and experience sought:
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy; BS in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred
- Current, active New Mexico pharmacy license
- 1–2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered
- Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and age-specific medication considerations
- Excellent communication skills, independent decision-making, and leadership abilities
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology
Physical demands include lifting up to 40 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and repetitive hand use during medication preparation.
