A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist to provide two weeks of coverage in Milwaukee, WI. This contract role offers the chance to contribute to long-term care pharmacy services by ensuring safe and effective medication management for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and compliantly.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files meticulously.
  • Counsel patients on medication use, possible side effects, and answer questions.
  • Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage and drug interactions.
  • Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on usage of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Prepare compounded medications and sterile solutions following established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare practitioners to address drug-related problems.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Wisconsin pharmacist license (in-hand).
  • Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laws, medication safety, and patient care best practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM
  • Coverage period: October 5 through October 16

This is a contract position with potential recurring opportunities as the site regularly requests pharmacists every 2-3 years. Candidates local to Milwaukee or those able to relocate are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration.
