Pharmacist - Minneapolis, MN

A leading pharmacy in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional pharmaceutical care, ensuring the safety and efficacy of medications dispensed while supporting patient health through counseling and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify any over-usage patterns.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
• Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer any related questions.
• Provide consultations regarding prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage, dosage, and drug interactions.
• Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies efficiently.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

• Active Minnesota Pharmacist license (MN license in-hand).
• Retail pharmacy experience is welcome; training is available for licensed pharmacists new to the setting.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts between 9:30 AM - 8:30 PM, including weekends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment.

Schedule:

• Flexible shifts: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM - 8:30 PM.
• Rotation includes Saturdays and Sundays.
