A 13-week pharmacist contract position is available in Minneapolis, MN, offering a dynamic role in dispensing and managing prescription medications while ensuring patient safety and compliance with legal standards. This role requires adaptability to varying shifts throughout the week, including weekends, within a pharmacy setting focused on comprehensive patient care.

Schedule/Hours:

• Flexible shifts: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–8:30 PM
• Rotating Saturdays and Sundays

Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications
• Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage
• Ensure medication supply adheres to legal requirements
• Verify appropriateness of prescribed medications for patients
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files
• Provide expert counseling on medication usage, side effects, and interactions
• Deliver additional patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory effectively
• Identify drug-related issues and communicate with healthcare providers
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns for optimal patient care

Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist with current Minnesota license in hand
• Retail pharmacy experience accepted; training provided as needed
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
