An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to support pharmacy operations at a rehabilitation hospital located in the Wausau, WI area. This contract role offers a chance to contribute to patient care within a focused rehab environment with a 30-bed capacity and an average daily census of 28.

Wausau, WI
Schedule:
- Afternoon to evening shift, approximately 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM (hours negotiable)
- 40 hours per week
- Weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage shared with the pharmacy manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmacy coverage during afternoon and evening hours in alignment with new extended pharmacy hours (8:00 AM to 9:00 PM)
- Collaborate with two other pharmacists and one pharmacy technician to support patient care and medication management
- Utilize the Wellsky pharmacy information system for order verification and processing
- Operate Pyxis automated dispensing systems effectively
- Perform limited intravenous compounding (no chemotherapy) as part of daily duties
- Serve as on-call pharmacist backup during off-hours, supporting the on-site team alongside Cardinal Health Remote Order Entry services
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with experience in institutional or hospital pharmacy settings
- Competency in IV compounding within a non-oncology rehab hospital environment
- Familiarity with pharmacy information systems, ideally Wellsky, and automated dispensing systems such as Pyxis
- Ability to work effectively in a small team and manage responsibilities independently during assigned shifts
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with clinical and remote pharmacy staff
