Pharmacist | Nantucket, Massachusetts

A contract pharmacist opportunity is available to support an outpatient/retail pharmacy attached to a hospital in Nantucket, MA. This assignment offers approximately 13 weeks of full-time day shifts, working five 8-hour days per week. The role begins as soon as possible, covering for a current vacancy.

The pharmacy utilizes McKesson EnterpriseRX, so candidates with experience using this system will be highly valued. The ideal pharmacist holds an active Massachusetts license, has retail pharmacy experience, and demonstrates a positive and professional attitude. Full-time availability is required to ensure continuity of care and smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently within outpatient/retail settings
• Use McKesson EnterpriseRX to process prescriptions and maintain pharmacy records
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and hospital staff to ensure patient safety and optimal medication management
• Provide exceptional customer service and drug information to patients
• Adhere to all regulatory, safety, and quality standards

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist license in Massachusetts
• Proven retail pharmacy experience
• Familiarity with McKesson EnterpriseRX strongly preferred
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Location and Housing Details: This role is based on Nantucket Island. Travel to the island requires ferry transport. Due to high housing demand, travelers often stay in hospital-provided apartments or shared accommodations with other professionals. Nantucket offers a unique and picturesque setting, ideal for pharmacists comfortable with island living during the assignment.
