A dynamic opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to support a small 40-bed hospital in Northern Central Wisconsin. This contract role is designed for a professional ready to manage a variety of pharmacy services in a fast-paced inpatient setting. The position offers a flexible scheduling approach, including a 4x10-hour day shift week or a 7 days on, 7 days off rotating schedule to accommodate work-life balance.

Location: Northern Central Wisconsin, Nekoosa area

Schedule:

  • 4x10-hour shifts per week, 7 AM to 5 PM, with rotating weekends
  • Alternatively, a blocked schedule of 7 days on followed by 7 days off (day shift)
  • Immediate start available
  • Contract length: 13 weeks and potentially longer

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple responsibilities within a central inpatient pharmacy using EPIC system for order verification
  • Oversee and check pharmacy technician work, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Respond to pharmacist-related phone inquiries
  • Prepare and dispense inpatient and outpatient IV medications, inpatient unit dose medications, and outpatient chemotherapy
  • Support diverse patient care areas including Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, emergency department, and inpatient/outpatient surgery
  • Handle an inpatient census averaging between 30-40 patients

Desired Experience:

  • Valid pharmacist licensure in the relevant state
  • Proven experience working with EPIC or similar pharmacy management systems
  • Background in inpatient and outpatient medication preparation and dispensing, including chemotherapy
  • Ability to independently manage pharmacy operations and supervise technicians
  • Experience in a hospital setting, preferably with a small bed count, is advantageous
