Pharmacist - New Braunfels, Texas

A Sterile Compounding Pharmacist opportunity is available in New Braunfels, TX for a 13-week contract role. This position focuses on preparing and verifying sterile medications while providing clinical expertise to ensure optimal patient care in home infusion therapy.

Schedule:

• 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients for home infusion therapy eligibility and assess clinical needs.
• Develop and adjust individualized medication therapy plans based on laboratory results and pharmacokinetic data.
• Prepare and dispense sterile medications adhering to USP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on medication use and infusion administration.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and monitor treatment outcomes.
• Manage infusion pumps and medication administration equipment, maintaining safety and quality assurance.
• Provide accurate drug information, maintain documentation, and support medication safety and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas.
• Must meet one of the following:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in sterile IV compounding.
  • Experience in non-sterile compounding, immunizations, and Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency.
  • Completion of an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE).
  • Equivalent pharmacy experience.

Required Skills:

• Strong clinical knowledge of home infusion pharmacy practices.
• Proficiency interpreting laboratory values and applying pharmacokinetic principles.
• Excellent communication, patient counseling, and customer service skills.
