This pharmacist role is based in New Britain, CT, offering a temp-to-hire opportunity in a combined retail and long-term care (LTC) environment. The position is designed for candidates with retail pharmacy experience and a valid Connecticut pharmacist license, with LTC experience considered a strong asset.
Work Schedule & Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Weekend rotation required every 4th week
- Approximately 24 to 30 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently within the retail and LTC settings
- Use retail computer system Liberty and LTC system Frameworks to manage patient profiles and pharmacy operations
- Counsel patients and healthcare providers on medication use, side effects, and interactions
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Participate in weekend rotation and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut pharmacist license is mandatory
- Proven retail pharmacy experience required
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy is highly advantageous
- Familiarity with Liberty and Frameworks pharmacy computer systems preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
