Pharmacist in New Haven, CT

This opportunity focuses on providing expert pharmaceutical care within a large, Level I Trauma Center hospital setting, specializing in inpatient services for Children's and Women's Health. The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective medication management in a complex healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver clinical pharmacy services in pediatric and women’s health inpatient units.
• Participate in medication therapy management, including dosing, monitoring, and adjustments.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Manage operational pharmacy duties such as sterile processing and medication dispensing when aligned with skills.
• Utilize healthcare IT systems like EPIC and Pyxis for accurate medication distribution and documentation.
• Potentially oversee pharmacy operational areas as Pharmacist in Charge based on experience.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years inpatient pharmacy experience; candidates with PGY1 residency training strongly preferred.
• Alternatively, 2-3 years of relevant inpatient experience without residency training.
• Licensed pharmacist in Connecticut.
• Previous exposure to pediatric and women’s health pharmacy practice preferred.
• Proficient in clinical and operational pharmacy tasks.
• Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems essential.

Location:

• New Haven, CT

Schedule:

• 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, day or evening shifts depending on departmental needs.
