Pharmacist - New Orleans, Louisiana

A healthcare facility near New Orleans is seeking a Critical Care / Clinical Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment starting mid-July. This role involves providing specialized pharmacy services within the Cardiovascular ICU and Medical ICU2, supporting patient care through expert medication management.

Location: New Orleans, LA (Metairie area)
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule: Days, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, every other week (EOW)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver clinical pharmacy services in a critical care setting, focusing on cardiovascular and medical intensive care units.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy for critically ill patients.
• Utilize EPIC EMR system proficiently for documentation, order verification, and monitoring patient progress.
• Provide evidence-based clinical interventions, medication recommendations, and support best practices in critical care pharmacotherapy.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in Louisiana with current license in-hand.
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in critical care pharmacy, including Level 1 trauma exposure.
• PGY-2 residency in critical care highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Board Certification preferred but not required.
• Comfortable navigating and documenting within the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Ideal candidates may be first-time travel pharmacists eager to gain hands-on critical care experience.
