A research hospital in New York, NY is seeking a skilled pharmacist for a full-time, 6-week contract maternity leave position. This role focuses on preparing medications safely and supporting both patient care and clinical research protocols, requiring strong IV and cleanroom experience.

Schedule:
- Full Time: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
- Part Time: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medications, including investigational and standard treatments, in compliance with physician orders and research protocols.
- Monitor drug therapies, identifying and advising on therapeutic incompatibilities and interventions.
- Lead pharmacy technicians by organizing workflow and verifying their preparation and labeling tasks.
- Provide pharmacological guidance to healthcare professionals, researchers, and patients.
- Participate in clinical research meetings to enhance hospital staff knowledge in pharmacology and research.
- Adhere strictly to all regulatory requirements set by NYSBP, TJC, NYDOH, DEA, FDA, NIH, and other agencies.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and sterile product preparation standards in the cleanroom environment.
- Manage inventory, including controlled substances and investigational drugs, and ensure proper record keeping.
- Support compliance with safety and cleanliness protocols in the pharmacy.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- NYS Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience with a focus on investigational drug products and sterile preparation.
- Demonstrated expertise in IV preparation and cleanroom protocols is required.
- Familiarity with hospital EHR systems such as Cerner or EPIC.
- Experience with automated dispensing machines and controlled drug inventory management.
- Ability to interpret and dispense medication according to clinical trial protocols independently.
- Preferred: BCSCP certification or willingness to obtain, and prior research environment experience.
