A research hospital in New York, NY is seeking a pharmacist with IV and cleanroom experience for a full-time, 6-week contract covering maternity leave. This role demands a strong background in hospital pharmacy operations, particularly involving investigational drug products and sterile preparations.

Schedule:
- Full Time: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
- Part Time: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm
Term: 6 weeks (contract)
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare medications, including research and standard treatment, by reviewing and interpreting physician orders.
- Compound, dispense, package, and label pharmaceuticals accurately.
- Monitor drug therapies and recommend interventions when necessary.
- Oversee technicians’ workflow, verifying preparation, labeling, order entries, and charges.
- Provide pharmacological consultation to healthcare teams and researchers.
- Participate in clinical research meetings to support staff knowledge development.
- Ensure compliance with NYSBP, TJC, NYDOH, DEA, FDA, NIH, and other regulatory requirements, including maintaining records and aseptic procedures in sterile product preparation.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current NYS Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience, with significant involvement in investigational drug products and sterile preparations.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare IV medications and work within a cleanroom environment.
- Proficiency with hospital electronic health record systems (Cerner or EPIC preferred) and controlled drug inventory controls.
- Experience with automated drug dispensing machines.
- Ability to interpret clinical trial protocols and dispense according to instructions without supervision.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to write procedures and maintain accurate pharmacy records.
- Certification in sterile and non-sterile product preparation (BCSCP) preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Previous research experience is a plus but not mandatory.
