Pharmacist in Nixa, MO

This opportunity offers a rewarding role for a licensed pharmacist to support central pharmacy operations within a hospital setting. The assignment spans 13 weeks with a strong possibility for extension, providing stability and the chance to make a meaningful impact on medication management and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize EPIC dispense prep to verify and check medications, kits, crash carts, prepack items, and other pharmacy products
• Coordinate workflow in the central pharmacy to ensure accurate and timely medication preparation
• Oversee the accuracy of stocked code carts and verify premade IVs, creams, insulin pens, and other pharmaceutical items
• Provide guidance and direction to pharmacy technicians to maintain smooth operations
• Serve as the primary pharmacist overseeing central pharmacy functions, while other pharmacists focus on order reviews within the electronic health record (EHR)

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Missouri Pharmacist Licensure is required
• A minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system is essential
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Capability to lead workflow coordination without direct supervision of other pharmacists

Work Environment:

• Central pharmacy team consists of 5 pharmacists and 10 technicians during the day shift, with 2 pharmacists and 5-6 technicians in the evening
• Collaborative and supportive setting focused on patient safety and operational efficiency

Training and Support:

• Comprehensive training will be provided over 2-3 weeks, tailored to the pharmacist’s experience and proficiency with product verification
