Pharmacist in Norfolk, VA

An immediate opening is available for an Inpatient Pharmacist to support a medical center in Norfolk, VA. This 13-week contract opportunity features overnight shifts with a schedule of seven nights on followed by seven nights off, ensuring a consistent and focused work rhythm.

Schedule:

• Overnight: 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday through Thursday
• Overnight: 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM, Friday through Sunday

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and process medication orders efficiently and accurately
• Manage IV medication preparation and administration
• Oversee pain control analgesia and antibiotic therapies
• Monitor drug interactions to ensure patient safety
• Enter medication orders using EMR systems
• Utilize EPIC charting for medication documentation
• Support pharmacokinetic and renal dosing adjustments (preferred)
• Manage chemotherapy and anticoagulant therapies (preferred)

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Virginia pharmacist license at submission time (strict requirement)
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required; prior travel pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of IV therapies, pain management, antibiotics, and drug interactions
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (firm requirement)
• Familiarity with pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing, chemotherapy, and anticoagulants is a plus
