A hospital inpatient pharmacist role is available at a well-established healthcare facility in Norristown, PA. This contract opportunity involves ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review all medication orders from physicians and physician extenders, verifying appropriateness of drug choice, dosage, frequency, and route.
- Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab results to avoid clinical conflicts before medication dispensing.
- Manage inventory control to maintain adequate medication supply.
- Provide accurate drug information and support to healthcare team members.
- Supervise pharmacy students and technicians during medication preparation, ensuring safety and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team for continuum of care planning and discharge readiness.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education is required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year hospital experience or completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical environment is preferred.
- Current PA Pharmacist License is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
