Pharmacist in North Hollywood, CA

This opportunity seeks a licensed pharmacist based in North Hollywood, CA, to play a crucial role in a dynamic pharmacy setting. The position requires expertise in dispensing and verifying prescriptions while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. A background in long-term care (LTC) and multi-dose prescription filling is highly preferred.

Schedule:

• Every other Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• On weeks without weekend shifts, coverage is needed Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• On weeks with weekend shifts, coverage shifts on Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify prescriptions with careful attention to dosage, strength, allergies, drug interactions, and formularies.
• Provide clinical and therapeutic advice to physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from client facilities and healthcare providers.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with billing information and documentation.
• Verify and acknowledge receipt of medications and supplies.
• Manage and audit controlled substance records.
• Maintain and verify Emergency Kit contents and conditions.
• Support pharmacy safety protocols and assist with inspections and audits.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Current and good standing pharmacist license in California.
• Experience with LTC and multi-dose prescription filling strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with the Pioneer Rx system.
