Pharmacist - Northridge, CA

This direct hire pharmacist position in Northridge, CA, offers a dynamic role focused on long-term care (LTC) and multi-dose prescription filling. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in dispensing, clinical consultation, and pharmacy operations to support quality patient care within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Schedule:

• Every other Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• On non-weekend weeks, support needed Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• During weekend work weeks, support needed Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify prescriptions accurately according to federal and state regulations, considering dosage, allergies, drug interactions, and formulary guidelines
• Provide clinical and therapeutic recommendations to healthcare providers and patients
• Respond professionally to inquiries from client facilities and healthcare professionals
• Oversee pharmacy technicians, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in workflow
• Assist with billing documentation and verification processes
• Manage receipt and verification of medications and supplies from vendors
• Maintain and audit controlled substance records and Emergency Kits for compliance
• Support pharmacy safety standards and participate in inspections, audits, and surveys
• Utilize the Pioneer Rx system for pharmacy management
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Current and valid California pharmacist license in good standing
• Experience in LTC and multi-dose prescription filling highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and patient safety protocols
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
