A new opportunity is available for a skilled Pharmacist to support a healthcare facility in the Los Angeles area. The facility is currently experiencing staffing challenges and requires a reliable, knowledgeable pharmacist to fill this crucial role. This contract position offers ongoing engagement with an initial booking of 8 weeks, potentially extending month-to-month based on need.

Location: Norwalk, CA

Schedule/Hours:

  • Variable day and afternoon shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform order verification ensuring accuracy and safety
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and daily operations
  • Consult with nurses and physicians to optimize patient care
  • Manage pharmacokinetics and dose adjustments
  • Utilize order entry systems (Allscripts/Paragon) for processing
  • Work with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets to maintain medication distribution

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing
  • Proficiency with Allscripts and Paragon order entry systems
  • Experience managing automated dispensing systems, preferably Pyxis
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Ability to supervise technicians and collaborate across care teams
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy workflows including order verification and pharmacokinetics
