A full-time Night Shift Pharmacist is urgently needed to join a healthcare facility starting May 11th. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to provide critical pharmaceutical services during a mandated night shift due to a Pyxis system crisis and regulatory requirements.

The position involves working primarily Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts, although some schedule flexibility is available. The assignment will last at least eight weeks, providing a meaningful engagement for pharmacists ready to support an essential service. Newly licensed pharmacists and retail candidates are welcome, provided they meet compliance requirements for immediate placement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and process medication orders accurately
  • Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians on duty
  • Consult and collaborate closely with nursing staff and physicians
  • Manage pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
  • Utilize the Paragon/Allscripts order entry system effectively
  • Support use and troubleshooting of Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets

Desired Experience:

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing
  • Familiarity or experience with Pyxis automation systems
  • Competence in clinical pharmacy tasks including order verification and medication consultation
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts
  • Pharmacy training allowing immediate compliance for quick start, including new graduates

  • Licensed capacity of 117 beds with an average daily census of 44 patients
  • Focus on delivering quality pharmaceutical care in a regulated environment with advanced automation
