Pharmacist in Norwalk, CA

A full-time night shift pharmacist is urgently needed to support a healthcare facility facing an emergency situation involving a Pyxis crisis, with a mandate from CDPH requiring pharmacist coverage during night hours. This contract role begins Monday night, May 11, and will last at least eight weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and patient safety
• Oversee and collaborate with pharmacy technicians during shifts
• Consult with nurses and physicians to provide expert pharmaceutical guidance
• Participate in pharmacokinetic monitoring and dose adjustments as needed
• Utilize the Paragon/Allscripts order entry system to manage medication orders
• Manage and troubleshoot issues related to Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist license allowing practice within the state
• Recent graduates and retail pharmacists are encouraged to apply
• Must be compliant with all Soliant staffing requirements for rapid onboarding
• Experience with automated dispensing systems, especially Pyxis, preferred
• Ability to work effectively during night shifts, most likely Monday through Friday
• Strong communication and clinical consultation skills

Schedule/Hours:

• Full-time, night shift
• Approximately 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• Some flexibility in schedule based on operational needs
