Pharmacist - Norwalk, CA

A full-time Night Shift Pharmacist position is available at a healthcare facility in Norwalk, CA, beginning Monday night, 5/11. This role is critical due to an emergency Pyxis dispensing cabinet crisis, with a mandate from the California Department of Public Health requiring a pharmacist on site during the night shift. This assignment is expected to last at least eight weeks, offering an opportunity for new graduates and retail pharmacists to engage in a hands-on hospital pharmacy environment, provided they meet Soliant compliance for quick start.

Schedule:

• Full-time night shift
• Primarily Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Some scheduling flexibility available

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety
• Oversee pharmacy technician activities and workflow
• Collaborate with nursing and physician staff providing pharmacy consultation
• Manage pharmacokinetics monitoring and related clinical pharmacy duties
• Operate within automated dispensing cabinet systems (Pyxis)
• Utilize electronic order entry system (Paragon/Allscripts)

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist license
• Compliance with Soliant requirements for immediate placement
• Ability to work independently during night shifts with strong clinical and communication skills
• Experience with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets preferred but not mandatory
• New graduates and retail pharmacists encouraged to apply
