Pharmacist in Norwalk, CA

A full-time night shift pharmacist position is available starting Monday night, 5/11, to support an emergency situation involving Pyxis and a state mandate requiring pharmacist coverage overnight. This assignment offers approximately eight weeks of continuous work, primarily Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts and some flexibility in scheduling.

The facility has 117 licensed beds, with an average daily census of 44 patients, and utilizes Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets for medication management. The pharmacist will work closely with interdisciplinary teams including nurses and physicians to ensure safe and effective medication use.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders and maintain accuracy and compliance
• Supervise and oversee pharmacy technicians on site
• Consult with nursing and medical staff regarding pharmacokinetics and medication therapy
• Efficiently manage automated dispensing systems (Pyxis)
• Utilize Paragon/Allscripts order entry systems for daily tasks

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid pharmacist license
• Recent graduates or retail pharmacists are welcome to apply
• Must be Soliant compliant for quick onboarding
• Experience with automated dispensing technologies like Pyxis preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently during night shifts
