Step into a dynamic pharmacist role based in the Los Angeles area, offering full-time day hours and an engaging work environment. This contract position spans 2-3 months with the possibility of extension and provides the opportunity to support a hospital and its nearby sister facilities—all located within a 10-15 mile radius of Norwalk, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Verify and process medication orders accurately to ensure patient safety.
• Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians to optimize pharmacy operations.
• Collaborate closely with nurses and physicians to offer expert pharmaceutical consultations.
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles to individualize patient medication therapy.
• Utilize Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems for efficient workflow.
• Manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets to maintain accurate medication inventories.
• Float as needed to sister hospitals to support their pharmacy needs within the local area.

Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist license with relevant state credentials.
• Proven ability in order verification and pharmacy technician oversight.
• Experience working within hospital pharmacy settings preferred.
• Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon and Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Comfortable adapting to variable day and afternoon shifts.
