This full-time daytime Pharmacist position offers an exciting opportunity to support pharmacy operations within a well-equipped healthcare facility in the Los Angeles area. The role involves working at a hospital with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients, providing critical pharmaceutical care in a dynamic environment. The position requires flexibility, as occasional floating to nearby sister hospitals within a 10 to 15-mile radius may be needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders with accuracy and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to optimize patient medication regimens.
- Manage pharmacokinetic calculations and therapeutic drug monitoring.
- Utilize Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets for medication management.
- Perform order entry using the Allscripts/Paragon system.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current pharmacist license to practice.
- Experience in hospital pharmacy operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with Pyxis dispensing systems and Allscripts/Paragon software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong communication skills for effective consultation and collaboration.
Schedule:
- Full-time day shifts with variable hours, including afternoons as needed.
