A leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Operations Supervisor with expertise in acute care hospital pharmacy. This contract role is based in Oakland, CA, offering a Monday through Friday day shift schedule with no weekend work. The position involves overseeing pharmacy operations with a focus on workflow management, staff scheduling, policy review, and team training, particularly in IV competencies and USP standards. Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC, is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Manage pharmacy operations and workflow efficiently.
- Oversee scheduling and coordinate team activities.
- Conduct policy reviews and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide training and support on IV competencies and USP guidelines.
- Lead and run team meetings to ensure clear communication.
- Utilize software tools including Excel, Word, and BD suite (Pyxis, PK, C2 Safe) for operational support.
Qualifications:
- Licensure as a pharmacist in California is required.
- Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy preferred; Pharm.D. degree or completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program is advantageous.
- Minimum two years of leadership experience in an acute care hospital pharmacy setting.
- Strong skills in scheduling, managing workflow, and policy implementation.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to run effective meetings.
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR system.
