A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist seeking a short-term assignment in Oceanside, CA. This contract role offers an immediate start for a duration of 4 weeks and requires a 2nd shift commitment from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, including rotating weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal standards and patient safety.
- Monitor and evaluate patient medication adherence and identify any patterns of overuse.
- Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy documentation with precision.
- Provide thorough consultation to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, interactions, and proper storage.
- Deliver specialized patient services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring.
- Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices including glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Prepare compounded medications and sterile solutions in accordance with established protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues and optimize patient care.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current California pharmacist license is mandatory.
- Retail pharmacy experience is welcome; training will be provided for retail pharmacists new to this environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
