A per diem pharmacist opportunity is available supporting a specialized pharmacy serving the HIV/AIDS patient population. This role requires a compassionate professional who demonstrates sensitivity and respect for patients managing infectious diseases. You will provide expert pharmaceutical care in a community-based setting with an emphasis on patient trust and collaborative provider communication.
Location:
- Orlando, FL (coverage may also include areas near Ft. Lauderdale)
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- No weekend shifts
- Coverage needs currently focused on select weekdays with ongoing assignments
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense and counsel patients on HIV/AIDS medications, ensuring accuracy and adherence
- Foster a respectful, empathetic environment to build trust with sensitive patient demographics
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care
- Identify workflow needs proactively and assist the pharmacy team as necessary
- Uphold high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and professionalism
Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 1-2 years retail or specialty pharmacy experience with direct HIV/AIDS medication dispensing
- Proven sensitivity to and experience working with HIV/AIDS patient populations
- Proficient in QS1 pharmacy software or ability to quickly learn new systems
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent coverage
- Positive, proactive approach to pharmacy operations
Required Documentation:
- Current and valid Florida Pharmacist license
- Updated resume explicitly highlighting HIV/AIDS pharmacy experience
