A per diem pharmacist opportunity is available supporting a specialized pharmacy serving the HIV/AIDS patient population. This role requires a compassionate professional who demonstrates sensitivity and respect for patients managing infectious diseases. You will provide expert pharmaceutical care in a community-based setting with an emphasis on patient trust and collaborative provider communication.

Location:

  • Orlando, FL (coverage may also include areas near Ft. Lauderdale)

Schedule:

  • Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • No weekend shifts
  • Coverage needs currently focused on select weekdays with ongoing assignments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and counsel patients on HIV/AIDS medications, ensuring accuracy and adherence
  • Foster a respectful, empathetic environment to build trust with sensitive patient demographics
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care
  • Identify workflow needs proactively and assist the pharmacy team as necessary
  • Uphold high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and professionalism

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years retail or specialty pharmacy experience with direct HIV/AIDS medication dispensing
  • Proven sensitivity to and experience working with HIV/AIDS patient populations
  • Proficient in QS1 pharmacy software or ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent coverage
  • Positive, proactive approach to pharmacy operations

Required Documentation:

  • Current and valid Florida Pharmacist license
  • Updated resume explicitly highlighting HIV/AIDS pharmacy experience
