An exciting opportunity awaits a licensed pharmacist to support a hospital setting specializing in emergency care. This role is based in Palo Verde, CA, with an 8-week contract starting in early March. The position involves working Thursday through Sunday, 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., totaling 48 hours per week. Occasional on-call duties during some nights will also be required.

Responsibilities include providing essential pharmacy support to the Emergency Department, which is currently the sole clinical department operational. Tasks involve responding promptly to Code Blue events, compounding sterile and non-sterile medications as necessary, and serving as a knowledgeable resource for nursing staff and patients. This role requires the ability to work efficiently under pressure and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid California Pharmacist license
  • Hospital inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably with emergency or critical care exposure
  • Proficiency in sterile and non-sterile compounding practices
  • Ability to manage emergency situations, including Code Blue response
  • Strong clinical knowledge to support nursing staff and patient care

Schedule:

  • Thursdays through Sundays
  • 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • On-call nights as assigned
