Pharmacist Opportunity – Inpatient/Behavioral Health Setting

An inpatient behavioral health facility is seeking a skilled Pharmacist for a weekend assignment starting May 18th. This contract role will support weekend pharmacy operations until a permanent pharmacist is hired. The position is located in Council Bluffs, IA, just a short commute from Papillion, NE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in an inpatient behavioral health environment
• Repackage medications utilizing Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems, ensuring compliance with protocols
• Load medications into automated dispensing machines and run restock reports to maintain inventory levels
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy and safety
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all regulatory standards

Ideal Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Iowa pharmacist license
• Previous experience with Omnicell automated dispensing systems preferred
• Familiarity with repackaging techniques and using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL is highly desirable
• Basic skills in operating automated drug loading machines and generating restock reports
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Schedule:

• Weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday), 6 hours per day
