Pharmacist - Parrish, FL

A licensed Florida pharmacist with leadership skills is needed to support a small Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital in Sarasota, FL. This role offers a unique opportunity to serve as the only full-time pharmacist on-site, taking full responsibility as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). The position requires quick availability to begin contributing to patient care and pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the sole full-time pharmacist, managing all day-to-day pharmacy activities in the LTAC hospital.
• Hold responsibility as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Oversee medication dispensing, verification, and distribution to support clinical care.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to optimize medication therapy plans.
• Maintain accurate records, including controlled substances and inventory management.
• Provide professional guidance to pharmacy technicians and assist in staff training if applicable.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Active Florida pharmacist license is mandatory.
• Experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager preferred.
• Background in hospital pharmacy, ideally in long-term acute care or similar settings.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently and make critical decisions to support patient safety.
• Commitment to compliance and quality standards in pharmacy practice.
