A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist to join a healthcare facility in Perry, GA, on a 9-week contract basis. This position offers the chance to work in a collaborative environment where patient care and medication safety are top priorities.
Schedule & Location:
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Possible weekend rotation
- Located in Perry, GA
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify overuse patterns
- Ensure medication supply adheres to legal standards
- Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for patients
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files meticulously
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Offer additional health services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocols
- Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supplies inventory
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare practitioners to identify and resolve drug-related problems
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Pharmacist license (must have license in-hand)
- Retail pharmacy experience is welcome; training will be provided for retail pharmacists new to clinical or institutional settings
- Strong communication and supervisory skills
- Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
