A hospital inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available with day and evening shifts based in Philadelphia, PA. This role is suitable for full-time, contract, or temp-to-hire candidates and welcomes both local pharmacists and travelers.

Position Overview:
The pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and dispensing medication orders, ensuring safe and effective medication therapy. Collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team is essential to maintain medication safety, perform clinical reviews, and support discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness, including drug selection, dosage, frequency, and administration route
  • Assess patient allergies, medical history, potential drug interactions, and lab results prior to dispensing
  • Dispense medications according to hospital policies and regulatory standards
  • Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare providers
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and students to guarantee safe medication preparation
  • Manage inventory control activities
  • Collaborate on continuum of care and discharge planning with the healthcare team

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience or APPE experience in a clinical/hospital setting preferred
  • Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required
  • BLS certification preferred
