Position Overview
The pharmacist will review and dispense medication orders, ensuring patient safety and optimal therapeutic outcomes. This role involves collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to support medication safety, clinical review, and discharge planning. The pharmacist also supervises pharmacy technicians and students to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, including drug selection, dosage, frequency, and route of administration
  • Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab results before dispensing
  • Dispense medications according to hospital policies and regulatory requirements
  • Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare professionals
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and students to ensure safe medication preparation
  • Participate in inventory control and management activities
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care and discharge planning

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy (required); PharmD preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or APPE experience in a clinical/hospital setting preferred
  • Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License (required)
  • BLS certification preferred
