Pharmacist - Philadelphia, PA

A healthcare institution in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a dedicated pharmacist for a contract role lasting 3 to 6 months. Location:

• Philadelphia, PA

Schedule:

• AM Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (40 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders from physicians and extenders, ensuring appropriateness of drug, dose, frequency, and route.
• Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab data for clinical conflicts before dispensing.
• Manage medication inventory and provide drug information support to healthcare teams.
• Supervise pharmacy students and technicians during medication preparation to guarantee safety and accuracy.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams on patient care continuity and discharge planning.
• Follow medication safety and quality assurance protocols diligently, including error reporting and response.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred.
• Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year hospital or clinical practice experience; prior Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) preferred.
• Experience with EPIC Dispense Prep; familiarity with EPIC camera verification system a strong plus.
• Sterile compounding and IV room experience required.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred.
• Ability to commit fully to a 3 to 6-month contract.
• Strong problem-solving skills with focus on medication safety.
• Adaptability and eagerness to work in a high-acuity, academic medical center setting.
