Outpatient Pharmacist - Contract

Job Description

A hospital-affiliated outpatient pharmacy in the Phoenix market is seeking an experienced Outpatient Pharmacist for a 13-week travel assignment beginning mid-July. This role offers a stable schedule with a strong clinical retail focus, supporting high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Responsibilities
Verify, fill, and check prescription medications for accuracy and safety
Provide patient counseling on prescriptions and medication use
Oversee pharmacy technicians and support daily workflow operations
Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and patient safety standards

Work Hours
Variable shifts between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Primary schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Full-time assignment
13+ week contract starting mid-July

Experience
Minimum 5+ years of retail pharmacy experience required
Strong outpatient pharmacy workflow experience preferred
Experience supervising pharmacy technicians
Patient counseling experience required

Education
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy

Other Qualifications
Active and valid Arizona Pharmacist License required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a high-volume outpatient setting
Full-time availability for the duration of the assignment
