A part-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) opportunity is available at an Opioid Treatment Center located in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role offers a 1-year contract with potential for extension or direct hire and is ideal for a pharmacist skilled in overseeing pharmacy operations within specialized treatment settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, managing daily pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Perform thorough chart reviews and maintain detailed, accurate documentation.
- Verify and, when necessary, fill prescriptions, especially when technician assistance is unavailable.
- Prepare and complete internal reports and forms using Microsoft Excel.
- Operate independently, especially during times without technician support.
- Limited direct patient interaction, only when requested.
- No billing or insurance processing responsibilities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with a clean professional history.
- 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience, with substance abuse or opioid treatment experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to handle reporting and documentation efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and uphold regulatory compliance without direct supervision.
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM, totaling 20 hours per week.
