Pharmacist | Pollock, Louisiana

A community hospital with over 200 beds is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care on a rotating schedule in a fast-paced hospital setting. This contract opportunity in the Alexandria, LA area requires a professional who can manage medication orders, supervise pharmacy technicians, and collaborate closely with clinical teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Location:

• Alexandria, LA (Pollock vicinity)
  Schedule:
• 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
• Rotating schedule such as 6:00 AM-4:30 PM, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM-11:00 PM
• Every other weekend rotation

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders for accuracy and safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure compliance and efficient workflow
• Consult with physicians and nurses regarding medication therapies
• Manage pharmacokinetics and adjust dosing as needed based on patient data
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management and documentation

Qualifications:

• Current Louisiana pharmacist license
• Experience working in a hospital pharmacy environment preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with healthcare teams
