A PRN Pharmacist position is available within an Indian Health Clinic setting, offering an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care and pharmacy operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Health Officer, this role supports daily pharmacy functions and patient medication management with a focus on safety, accuracy, and compliance. The dress code is scrubs or business casual attire (excluding all black).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing and verifying prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and appropriate dosing
- Preparing and dispensing medications in line with regulatory and quality standards
- Verifying the correct filling of MedBoxes
- Counseling patients on medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, on treatment plans
- Performing medication reconciliation to maintain accurate medication histories
- Managing medication therapy for patients with chronic conditions
- Monitoring for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
- Supervising pharmacy technicians in prescription filling, inventory management, and workflow completion
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with relevant state board
- Experience in clinical pharmacy operations, especially in community or clinic settings
- Strong knowledge of medication therapy management and pharmacy law
- Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to supervise and guide pharmacy technicians effectively
