A specialized ambulatory infusion therapy clinic in Portland, ME is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to support their home infusion services. This role focuses on providing clinical pharmacy care for patients with both acute and chronic medical conditions requiring IV and infusion therapies.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and process physician orders while verifying insurance benefits
- Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations in line with USP 797 standards
- Ensure the safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
- Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for other pharmacists as needed
Qualifications:
- Active Maine Pharmacist License in good standing
- Minimum 1+ year of pharmacy experience; 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding is required
- Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
- Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking abilities
Schedule:
- Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling options
- Additional ongoing PRN coverage as needed
