This remote Managed Care Pharmacist role offers an opportunity to provide clinical pharmacy expertise within a dynamic health plan environment. The position requires a licensed pharmacist in OR, WA, or CA with at least 3 years of experience in managed care settings, including handling prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings. Candidates must be adept at delivering patient-centered care while collaborating closely with medical directors, nurse case managers, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive medication therapy management (MTM) services directly to patients.
  • Engage in population-based disease management and specialty pharmaceutical coordination.
  • Conduct drug utilization reviews and contribute to clinical policy development, including Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee activities.
  • Review pharmacy and medical claims to identify medication-related issues and implement interventions.
  • Educate and consult with healthcare professionals and members to promote evidence-based, cost-effective pharmaceutical care.
  • Communicate therapeutic recommendations effectively to physicians for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain professional development to stay current in clinical pharmacy practices.
  • Manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment.
  • Support quality enhancement and cost management objectives.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active pharmacist license in Oregon, Washington, or California.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managed care pharmacy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of prior authorization processes, audits, appeals, and ALJ hearings.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional growth.

Schedule & Location:

  • Remote position with weekday hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Rare weekend work required a few times per year.
