Join a dynamic remote opportunity as a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist (CPS) focused on managed care pharmacy services for members across Oregon, Washington, and California. This contract role offers the chance to apply your clinical expertise in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment, supporting evidence-based, cost-effective medication management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care through Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs.
- Collaborate with medical directors, nurse case managers, network physicians, and providers to coordinate and optimize care.
- Manage population-based disease and specialty pharmaceutical care coordination.
- Conduct drug utilization reviews and develop clinical policies, including participation in Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee.
- Review pharmacy and medical claims; educate members, caregivers, and healthcare teams.
- Develop medication-related problem lists and implement medication action plans with provider interventions.
- Participate in medical policy development to promote safe, quality, and cost-effective medication use.
- Communicate therapeutic recommendations tactfully and effectively to healthcare providers.
- Maintain personal accountability for ongoing professional development in clinical pharmacy.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active pharmacist license in OR, WA, or CA required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managed care environment, including prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings.
- Proficiency in navigating complex pharmacy and healthcare systems.
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, constantly changing setting.
- Willingness to work rare weekends a few times per year.
