Pharmacist - Portsmouth, VA

An Inpatient Pharmacist role is available for a 13-week contract position starting on June 29th in Portsmouth, VA, providing support at a regional medical center. This opportunity involves rotating shifts, including day, evening, and overnight hours.

Shift Details:

• Day: 0630–1500, 0730–1600, 0900–1730, 1000–1830
• Evening: 1300–2130, 1430–2300
• Overnight: 1930–0730, 2030–0730

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders and enter prescriptions accurately
• Manage drug interactions and antibiotic therapies
• Administer pain-controlled analgesia and intravenous medications
• Support chemotherapy, anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic, and renal dosing as needed
• Utilize EPIC for electronic charting and documentation

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required; travel pharmacy experience is a plus
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records is mandatory
• Experience with IV medications, pain control, antibiotic therapies, and order verification required
• Preferred experience includes chemotherapy medication management, anticoagulants, and specialized dosing protocols
