A highly skilled Pharmacist opportunity is available in Grants, NM, offering a direct hire arrangement with a competitive salary range of $135,000 to $168,000. This role demands a professional committed to managing comprehensive pharmacy operations and providing expert clinical pharmacy services to support patient care.
Responsibilities include accurately preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards. The Pharmacist will monitor patient drug therapies for safety and efficacy, provide drug information to healthcare providers, and participate actively in clinical duties aligned with medical staff policies. Operational management involves maintaining drug inventory, supervising pharmacy technicians, and contributing to formulary management and automated dispensing systems.
This position also involves emergency response participation in Rapid Response Teams and Code Blue situations. Maintaining professional competencies through ongoing education and adhering to compliance guidelines are critical elements of the role. In the Pharmacy Director’s absence, leadership and essential duties management are required.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
- Current, active New Mexico pharmacy license
- 1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations may be considered
- Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacology and age-specific medication therapy
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound clinical judgment
- Experience with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology
- Leadership and supervisory skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform repetitive hand/finger use, lift up to 40 pounds, and stand or walk for prolonged periods
