An inpatient pharmacist position is available at a 327-bed hospital in Quincy, IL, located near the Southwest corner of the state close to Missouri, with Springfield, IL and St. Louis, MO as nearby major cities. This role requires an experienced pharmacist to work the overnight shift on a 7-on/7-off schedule, from 7 PM to 7 AM, with flexible availability.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year recent inpatient pharmacy experience is required.
  • Prior experience working an overnight shift is highly preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to prepare IV medications as needed.
  • Experience with EMR systems, preferably AllScripts (though candidates without this experience are still encouraged to apply).
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automated medication cabinets is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care during overnight hours.
  • Prepare and dispense medications, including intravenous formulations when necessary.
  • Utilize AllScripts EMR for medication management and documentation.
  • Manage medication inventory using Omnicell systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure patient safety and effective drug therapy.

Contract Details:

  • Start date is ASAP.
  • Duration of assignment is approximately 10-13 weeks.
  • Overnight shift hours: 7 PM to 7 AM, working 7 consecutive nights followed by 7 days off.
