Per Diem Pharmacist - Raleigh, NC

A per diem pharmacist opportunity is available supporting a home infusion environment in Raleigh, NC. This role requires expertise in sterile compounding, intravenous admixture services, and patient communication within a home infusion setting. Applicants must be proficient in CPR+ software and bring a strong clinical knowledge base to ensure accurate preparation, verification, and delivery of compounded sterile preparations (CSP).

Schedule:

• 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• Coverage period: 7/29 through 8/5

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify pharmaceutical products entering the clean room for sterile compounding, ensuring adherence to batch records and lot numbers
• Perform final checks on CSP, including labels, fill amounts, and drug components before release
• Confirm accuracy of shipment contents going out to patients, including medications and medical supplies
• Effectively communicate with physicians, field nurses, and patients regarding medication regimens, inventory levels, potential drug reactions, and abnormal lab results
• Conduct patient follow-up calls to coordinate medication deliveries, assess supply inventory, and monitor compliance
• Respond promptly to inquiries from physician offices, nursing agencies, and patients
• Report any issues or concerns to management in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Master of Science in Pharmacy preferred
• Active pharmacist license in North Carolina
• Minimum two years recent acute-care experience or at least one year in home infusion therapy
• Demonstrated expertise in intravenous admixture services and intravenous therapy
• Proficiency with CPR+ software is mandatory
