A Remote Managed Care Pharmacist role is available for a licensed professional holding an OR, WA, or CA Pharmacist License. This contract position offers the opportunity to contribute expertise in a managed care environment, supporting members through clinical pharmacy services and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective clinical pharmacy services including Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and population-based disease management.
  • Collaborate with medical directors, nurse case managers, network physicians, and other providers to coordinate evidence-based, cost-effective care.
  • Participate in specialty pharmaceutical acquisition and care coordination efforts.
  • Conduct drug utilization reviews and develop clinical policies to support the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee.
  • Review pharmacy and medical claims, assess member needs, and develop medication-related problem lists with appropriate interventions.
  • Educate and consult with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare team members both internally and externally.
  • Communicate therapeutic recommendations professionally and tactfully to influence clinical decisions.
  • Maintain accountability for professional development and stay current with clinical pharmacy practices.
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment.
  • Enhance quality of care and optimize outcomes while ensuring cost-effective medication use.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active Pharmacist License in Oregon, Washington, or California.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a managed care setting involving prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Expertise in medication therapy management and clinical policy development.

Location:

  • Remote, with work schedule Monday through Friday.
  • Rare weekend availability required a few times per year.
