Pharmacist - Republic, MO

A hospital pharmacy position is open for an experienced pharmacist to support acute care pharmacy operations within a well-established healthcare facility. This contract role offers the opportunity to take a lead role in medication verification and central pharmacy workflow management during evening shifts.

Location:
Republic, MO (acute care pharmacy setting)

Schedule:

• Evenings, 2:30 PM – 12:30 AM
• 7 days on, 7 days off (Thursday through Wednesday, subject to weekly scheduling adjustment)
• Guaranteed 36 hours weekly

Position Overview:
The primary responsibility is to oversee central pharmacy operations by verifying medication preparations and ensuring accurate restocking of kits, crash carts, and other essential pharmacy stock, utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system. The pharmacist will coordinate technician workflow and support smooth pharmacy function during the shift. This position is essential to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency in medication distribution.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Missouri Pharmacist License required
• At least 1 year of pharmacist experience; new graduates will also be considered
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR preferred
• Strong attention to detail for product verification tasks
• Ability to manage and redirect pharmacy technicians as needed (without direct supervision)

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and check medication orders including IVs, creams, insulin pens, and more using EPIC dispense prep
• Monitor and confirm proper stocking of code carts and emergency kits
• Coordinate workflow of pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient operations
• Participate in a structured 2-3 week product verification training to gain facility-specific knowledge

Work Environment:

• Central pharmacy team includes multiple pharmacists and technicians across shifts
• This role functions as the lead pharmacist for evening operations, distinct from order review assignments
