Join a healthcare facility in Oneonta, New York, offering a 13-week travel contract opportunity for a skilled pharmacist. This role requires inpatient hospital pharmacy experience along with sterile compounding expertise in compliance with USP 797 and 800 standards.

Schedule and Hours

• 40 hours per week
• Monday through Friday, department open 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Shift options: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• No regular weekends or holidays; potential for every 3rd weekend if unforeseen leaves occur
• No formal on-call rotation currently; may be added 2–3 nights/week for well-trained travelers

Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medication orders accurately
• Oversee and supervise pharmacy technicians
• Perform pharmacokinetic dosing including vancomycin and aminoglycosides
• Support general inpatient pharmacy workflow and clinical needs
• Manage sterile compounding operations with technician oversight, ensuring proper gloving, garbing, hand hygiene, and compliance with USP standards
• Participate in competency validation onsite

Systems Used

• EMR: Epic
• Dispensing system: BD Pyxis
• Comfortable working in an automated inpatient pharmacy environment

Qualifications

• Active New York State Pharmacist License (required)
• Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience (retail or outpatient only not accepted)
• Sterile compounding experience including USP 797 and 800 compliance (mandatory)
• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD (PharmD not required)
• Minimum two weeks onsite orientation prior to independent practice

• Ability to provide float coverage at nearby O’Connor Hospital in Delhi, NY
